Championing
the Rights of Seniors
OMBUDSMAN provides an avenue for conflict resolution
that may be otherwise unavailable to elderly residents who are victims
of neglect and or abuse, whether it is physical or sexual, emotional,
verbal or financial in nature.
As an important voice for vulnerable seniors when they may feel
too overwhelmed or ashamed to communicate problems of abuse, OMBUDSMAN
works vigilantly to eliminate all forms of elder abuse, establish
bonds of trust while protecting the confidentiality of individuals.
OMBUDSMAN strives to ensure dignity, choice and quality of life
for all of our deserving citizens in long-term care.

the quality of life for senior citizens in long-term care facilities
and preserving the civil and human rights of residents in these
facilities.
Enhancing
The Qualityof Life of Our Elders
Approximately 2,500 seniors are living in nursing
homes and residential care (assisted living) facilities in Monterey
County. Sadly some of these frail elders may live in abusive environments.
Alone, isolated, and often without the comfort of family or friends,
these vulnerable members of our society often feel neglected and
abandoned.
OMBUDSMAN is a private, non-profit agency of state certified staff
and dedicated volunteers committed to preserving the quality of
life for these seniors, working to resolve vital problems and complaints
on behalf of the residents of long-term care facilities – including
allegations and suspicions of abuse and neglect.
